Ethics in Scientific Research: Workshop

April 25, 2024, Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) hosted a workshop led by Dr. Sawsan Abuhammad titled “Ethics in Scientific Research.” The event gathered students, researchers, and professionals to explore the critical importance of maintaining ethical standards in academic and scientific research.

Dr. Abuhammad discussed various ethical principles that researchers must adhere to, including informed consent, data integrity, authorship responsibilities, and avoiding plagiarism. She emphasized how crucial it is for researchers to maintain transparency and accountability throughout the research process to ensure the validity and trustworthiness of their findings.

The workshop also included interactive discussions and real-world case studies, allowing participants to engage with ethical dilemmas that may arise during research. Dr. Abuhammad encouraged open dialogue, stressing that ethical considerations are integral not only for compliance but for the advancement of science and the well-being of society.
