May 23, 2024, Ms. Zahraa Almuhsen, a master’s student in the Biomedical Ethics program at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), delivered a webinar titled “Ethics in Medical Research.” The session, held from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, brought together students, faculty, and professionals to discuss the critical ethical principles that govern medical research.
Ms. Almuhsen highlighted key issues such as informed consent, patient confidentiality, and the ethical use of human subjects in medical studies. She emphasized the need for medical researchers to uphold ethical integrity in all phases of research, from design and data collection to publication. Through case studies and real-world examples, she showcased the potential consequences of ethical violations in medical research, both for participants and the broader scientific community.
