Samer Swedan holds a PhD in Basic Medical Sciences with specialization in Medical Microbiology from the University of South Alabama, USA. He also holds BSc and MSc degrees in Medical Laboratory Sciences from Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), Jordan. His research deals with bacteria and viruses of clinical relevance. Research areas include molecular pathogenesis of viral and bacterial pathogens; epidemiology of viral and bacterial pathogens; antimicrobial resistance; and antimicrobial peptides. His RCR training has enabled him to incorporate RCR principles in the graduate-level as well as undergraduate level curricula that he teaches at JUST. During his RCR fellowship, he investigated the knowledge of research ethics and adequacy of research training among MSc and PhD Students in Jordan.
